Name                     : Sakila Devi A/P Venkitasamy
Matrix Number       : PEH070060
Group                    : Group 4
Principle                 : The child’s knowledge and experience as a base of learning
Title of Video         : let’s explore the kingdom of animalia
Selected Audience  : 9-10 years old
Objectives              : At the end of the video, audience will be able to:

                              – identify the different types of animals (mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and birds)
                              – identify the characteristics of the animals (mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and birds)

Prerequisite knowledge: Pupils have prior knowledge on the animals that they will watch in the video

In my video, it consists of pictures of real animals of the five classes which are colourful. the video will show the pictures of the animals of different classes separetely. it will start with mammals where there will be pictures and video clip and tags going on at the same time and followed by other classes. there will be also soundtrack to accompany the video. as stated in the principle, the audience’s experience and knowledge about the animals will make it easier for them to understand. other than that, the animals will be from all over the world. the rationale for doing this is, when the learners know all the animals they will be bored to watch the same thing again. therefore, i feel that their base knowledge and experience can be added with new knowlegde for them to acquire to create curiousity when they watching the video and to know more. the underlying theory is the Krashen’s Input Hypothesis. i feel that the learners should somehow have some challenging input in order to grab or acquire the new knowledge. when they work haredr. they will learn more. as i mentioned in my objectives, the learners will somehow identify the animals with different classes and learn the characteristics of the animals of each class. overall the video wiil be an academic cum fun learning type.
